Toe board – when do I need it?

Following AS1657 -Toeboard should form part of the railing system whenever:

1. There is an opportunity for items such as tools to fall from a platform onto pedestrians below. ( for example, on a Mezzanine level)
2. There is a possibility of moving machinery or objects, such as pallets to intrude into a pedestrian walkway.
